Please note that most families do pay above the minimum Government regulations
The following rates apply to live-in positions:

The salary is dependent on the amount of hours and days that the family requires.
We recommend a fair amount be paid should the hours vary from this and dependent on the type of work, the experience and skills of the applicant.
Baby-sitting is included in the pocket money.
All Au Pairs must be allowed time off to attend English language classes either during the day or in the evening.
If there is additional work during school holidays, this should be made clear at the time of making the offer and reasonable additional pocket money can be expected in return for this.
Extra duties or hours should be discussed in advance and compensated for with some extra money, £2.50 per hour however, this must be worked out between the two parties individually.
Au Pairs are not trained nannies, therefore should never be left in sole charge of babies without parental supervision.
Both the family and Au Pair should have a flexible attitude as this ensures a successful relationship between both parties. Au Pairs appreciate having free time over the weekend when possible.
